A memory care unit is a facility that provides care and treatment for elderly living with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, many with the risk of elopement. Our centers are safe, secure environments that help to eliminate the risk of residents wandering too far in a state of confusion. We also offer a variety of activities virtually every day of the week to help keep residents active and social, some of which are specifically designed to help combat memory loss.

White Birch Communities memory care facility is staffed by highly trained professionals who take the time to get to know all their residents and specific care they each need. Being a family-owned business, we work hard to ensure that we care for our residents just as closely as we would our own kin.

"For the spouse or family member who's caring for them, it just becomes too much," Nancy D'Auria, assistant director of nursing care at the Hebrew Home at Riverdale in New York City, told U.S. News and World Report in a recent story. "One day they're just like, 'I can’t do this,' and they suddenly start looking for placement."

Alzheimer's is the sixth-leading cause of death in the US., and one out of three seniors will die with some form of dementia. Alzheimer’s tends to be more prevalent in women, who currently make up about two-thirds of those living with the condition.
